Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has assigned a British company to promote Maldivian tourism.

According to a tourism news website, the project was assigned to Rooster, one of the biggest lifestyle promoting companies in Britain.

The website states that the company was assigned to promote Maldivian tourism industry in Europe and also to increase the amount of British tourists to the Maldives.
Maldivian tourism industry had been shadowed by the political upheaval in the recent past.

“We selected Rooster to promote Maldives within a very competitive atmosphere. England is a very important market to the Maldivian tourism industry.” Acting managing director of MMPRC Mohamed Adam said.

MMPRC yesterday held a press conference in England to brief the media about the Maldivian tourism industry. Tourism minister of Maldives Ahmed Adheeb also participated in the conference.
