Two arrested over stabbing attack on foreign expatriate

Police have arrested two people in suspicion of the stabbing attack on a foreign expatriate late last night.

Police media official revealed that the attack around 12.45 last night had left the foreigner with injuries to the neck. But the victim’s condition was gradually improving, official said referring to doctors reports.

Official further added that the knife believed to have been used in the attack had been discovered stained with blood.

Police suspect that four people had been involved in the attack, where two had been arrested while in possession of knives.

Stabbing attacks have increased recently in capital Male, where a 16 year old was stabbed to death while freelance journalist Ismail Hilath Rasheed was also subject to a near fatal stabbing.
