16 year old Mohamed Arham: Police have arrested a suspect over his murder.
Police have arrested a suspect over the gruesome murder of 16 year old Mohamed Arham of Haa Alif Atoll Hoarafushi, Nooreege. Arham was found stabbed to death inside Kulliyyaa Park.
Police media official said on Thursday that the identity of the suspect will be revealed later and that much progress has been made in the case.
Police stated that Arham, who had been attacked inside Lorenzo Park, had been stabbed six times on various parts of his body with a sharp weapon. He added that Arham covered in blood lying face up and was already dead when his body had been discovered by police officers on patrol and rushed to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
The police stated that the attack had originated from a minor dispute between two gangs which had become personal and vengeful and that it was also believed that Arham’s murder had been premeditated.
Police stressed that Arham had no criminal record, but had been found that Arham was a frequent visitor of the park and had associations with the members of the gang that hung around the park.
