  • The three suspects accused of Bobby's murder: All three have been afforded the chance to appoint an attorney.

Criminal Court has given the opportunity for all three suspects charged with the murder of G.Veyru, Abdul 'Bobby' Muheeth on Thursday.

Muhujath Ahmed Naasih of Abulagee Ge, Gaaf Dhaal Atoll Gahdhoo, Mohamed Maimoon of Zaithoonige, Lhaviyani Naifaru and Ali Mushahfau of Sultan Villa Seenu Atoll Maradhoo are charged with the brutal murder of Bobby in the first degree.

As the court proceedings started Thursday morning, all three suspects looked calm and requested for an attorney. All three of them presented details of their guardians to the court, who would assist them in the case.

As the state attorney was about to present the charges, the Judge stated that suspects in murder cases can only defend themselves in the presence of an attorney, hence the state attorney did to present the charges.

The state attorney had previously requested the court to speed up the court process. She had requested the court to schedule the hearings to facilitate a speedy process.

In conclusion, Judge ordered all three suspects to work to appoint an attorney and also asked the police to assist in the process. Judge also stated that the hearings will resume as soon as attorneys are appointed by the three.

The three suspects had threatened the media outside as they were being taken away after the court hearing concluded.

Three underage children are also being tried at the juvenile court in relation to the case. All three suspects have denied all charges.
