Survey to be conducted to determine healthcare expense

A National Health Accounts Survey is to be conducted to find out the total expense on healthcare by the government and private individuals.

The Health Ministry stated today that the survey will be conducted in 42 islands and the surveyors are to visit healthcare providers and gather data.

The Ministry revealed that information on expenses will be collected for 2011 from hospitals, health centers, health posts, pharmacies, voluntary health organizations and traditional medicine.

While this survey is to be conducted the Health Minister Dr Mohamed Jamsheed Ahmed has earlier said that despite there being no money left in the budget for healthcare, necessary healthcare services are being provided to the people.
