Juvenile Court Thursday for the second time cancelled the delivering of the verdict on the murder of Mohamed Hussain near Maaziyaa Grounds in 2010.
State had charged six children over the murder of 17 year old Mohamed Hussain who had died after an assault. All six have been charged with terrorism, where the hearings on the case have been completed and a verdict remains.
Juvenile Court had said that a verdict would be delivered on July 9. But one of the suspects had fallen ill and the session was postponed to last Thursday. However, citing that one of the defendants was not present in court, the session on Thursday was also called off.
Maafannu Beauty Flower Mohamed Hussain had succumbed to injuries sustained during a brutal assault on July 30, 2010.
Ibrahim Shahum Adam of Galolhu Cozy, a murder suspect in another case has also been charged with terrorism for Mohamed Hussain’s murder at the Criminal Court.
Anti-Terrorism law states that if a person dies due to an act of terrorism the offence carries the death sentence, life in prison or exile. The law also stipulates that accessory to such a crime would also carry the same penalty.
