All six people arrested on suspicion of hurling rocks at the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) vehicles as it passed the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) camp in Feydhoo on July 13, have now been transferred under house arrest, according to Police.
Police media official confirmed that all six people including Feydhoo councilor Ahmed 'Mira' Mirzad are now under house arrest.
Police detailed that all six had been transferred to house arrest after the necessary investigation had been completed.
MDP had claimed that all six members arrested in Feydhoo on Friday night had been on hunger strike in jail.
Mirzad had been arrested on several occasions regarding suspicions of some major violence after the downfall of former President Mohamed Nasheed’s government, including the arson of police buildings and courts.
