Male inflation at 14.94 percent

Statistics publicized by the Department of National Planning (DNP) has revealed that the inflation rate of Male during the month of July this year was at 14.94 percent than that of the same month last year.

With the exclusion of fish products the inflation rate from July 2011 and July 2012 was at 11.31 percent. However, the Male inflation rate had risen to 15.05 percent in May this year. In comparison with April of last year and the same month this year Male inflation rate was at 14.98 percent.

The inflation rate in the capital in June was 14.69 percent in comparison with 14.66 percent the previous month.

During the past 12 months the highest hike in inflation was observed from fish, tobacco, cafes, restaurants and garments. The inflation rate of fish products had gone up by 70 percent during the last one year.
